Here are 9 books in order of how helpful they’ve been to me personally, when it comes to making room:
1. “How to keep house while drowning,” by KC Davis (audiobook): she said she didn’t fold her clothes and I was in awe of her genius
2. “The life changing magic is tidying up,” by Marie Kondo (the GOAT) (audiobook): She is so obviously a professional at decluttering/organizing BUT I don’t have the level of committment it’s gonna take to do it in the order she says to do it in YET. ***it’s included in your audible membership if you have audible
3. “Goodbye things” by Fukui Sasaki (audiobook): he says throw it away even if it sparks joy. He also said he could pack up his entire house in 30 min if he needed to move.
4. “Afrominimalism,” by Christine Platt (physical copy): This is the first book that set me on my lil mission to make room and it helped me get to the root of why I collected all this shh in the first place.
5. “The complete book of home organization,” by Toni Hammersley (physical copy): I’ve checked this book out of the library like 9 times. It’s especially helpful when it comes to filing the household paperwork, but now we have a holiday station in the garage 🤗🤗
6. “Declutter like a mother,” by Allie Casazza (audiobook): this book was the most sympathetic to the fact that I was cleaning one room, while two littles were tearing it up IMMEDIATELY afterwards.
7. “Decluttering at the speed of life,” Dana K White (audiobook): basically we have to learn to work within the spaces that we have & let the space dictate when it’s time to throw stuff out
8. “Messy Minimalism,” by Rachelle Crawford (audiobook): Christian based
9. “The year of less,” by Cait Flanders (audiobook): so she went on a year long shopping ban, which I am NOT doing & I rolled my eyes at for hours and hours. It was more about her personal story, but at the very end, I was motivated to give it a try for a month… NEXT month 😳😳
